Acrylic & PETG Sheet
Solid acrylic sheet (also known as PMMA, Plexiglas or Perspex)
is produced in either a cast or extruded form and has excellent
machining and thermoforming characteristics as well as being hard
wearing and offering superb optical clarity. Opal acrylic sheet is
popular for back lit displays, light diffusers and
signage.
PETG (copolyester) is another durable thermoplastic which
offers a balance of strength and optical clarity that is
increasingly used in applications such as street furniture and
cycle shelters . Like solid PC, PETG is available in standard and
UV protected grades and offers superior fire resistance to
acrylic (rated: class 1y - BS467pt7 ).
Both these practical alternatives to glass can be used for glazing
as well as for partitions, machine guards, merchandise displays,
notice boards, light boxes and vehicle windows.
Clear PETG and acrylic are readily available from Rockwell in thicknesses between 2mm and 10mm. Other thicknesses and finishes are also available to order including the full Perspex acrylic colour range. All sheets are supplied cut-to-size up to a maximum of 3m x 2m.
